FlagUS How's the bite in Big Lake?

Been working wads of OT since the middle of April. Planning on heading out to Big Lake in the AM, what's the bite been like, how's the water looking?

Wife and I took our big boat our yesterday for a ride down the ship channel to Cameron and back up thru the lake and thru Texaco Cut.
Water was very clear, all the way out past the jettys.
Water was clear in the lake too.
Winds picked up after 3 pm. Winds were out of the South, then changed out of the East, then changed out of the North, then out of the West. All between 3 pm and 10 pm.
We saw a large group of Dolphin around the wellheads. Some of them played in our wake. Tried to get a picture, but my camera phone is too slow. Most of the boats we saw were fishing the jettys and a few in Turners Bay.

We were just putt putting down the ship channel to the jettys and back up thru Big Lake.
Didn't see near as many boats as I thought would be out on a holiday weekend.
We didn't hit the beaches. Saw a bunch of campers on the new place at the jettys.
Lots of fishermen on the pier and the rocks too.
We did see a few catching around Davis Seafood cut going to Hackberry and a few fishing Jr.'s Cut that were catching small trout too.
We were running around 15 mph down the channel and around 8 mph on the way home.
We ran from noon to 11 pm.
We only saw Reds being caught at the jetty's. No trout.
