I have that same PP bracket, you don't need the spacer because that bracket is a side mount, which you are gona have to drill 2 holes on the side of the jack plate. i have a Nautic Star 2200 and i did not want to put a PP bracket behind the jack plate on transom of boat which requires the spacer for the other side of jack plate to match thickness and your gona have to remove motor somewhat to get it on and i installed it myself as fast i could drill the holes. But my boat has a 4" solid jack plate on transom and 4" Hyd. jack plate on top of that which gives me a blank empty space to mount PP bracket to. So you will need at least 3" of empty space on Jack plate to drill holes and mount PP bracket close to transom, Oh and have a Yamaha 225 SHO and it looks like it is going to hit PP when you turn all the way to the right but it angles out away from motor and it will not touch, it is angled just right so not to hit. Hope this helps you out, i am very satisfied with it.

mine are mounted on the sides of my atlas. had to recently go to the 5" because the SHO would rub on the right side with the 3"

Yeah thats what I'm worried about. I had a 175 Etec mounted when I got the boat so I really wasnt worried about it, but now that I repowered to a Etec 250, it is considerably wider.
