Default E85 Ethanol

They have opened a new gas station in Bridge City, TX and it offers E85 at $2.79 a gallon. My 2011 F150 5.0 will run it but I am hesitant to fill up. Anybody used a full tank of E85?

The only thing that will happen is your MPG will go down some.

I would never put that crap in my truck. Your mileage will go down significantly and probably cause problems to your engine.

I was thinking the same but have never heard any good or bad about it. If my truck was under warranty, I'd fill up on E85. But it's not so I'll stick to regular gas.

My dad ran it in his truck for a few tanks then compared the numbers on it vs regular.... He said there was enough loss in milage that it cost more to run it

What I figured also. I make my money on doing work at refineries so it would feel wrong to use it. Thanks for the info.

If ethanol can do what it is known to do to outboard motors and even lawn mower engines-that should tell us to stay away.
