Ok, I feel a little better. I am just worried they won't flood me a pond because they are going to have to flood the soybean field later.

Hope they do.....remember it all depends on what DEAL you made with the farmer or person you leasing from..... |

Why would they flood the beans?

most bean fields don't have levees

And no I wouldn't be worried that your hole ain't ready. Its still VERY early to be doing that

Yea thats what I was thinking. Farmers don't want water on their beans, it will get too hot and scald them and kill them

I never hunted in flooded bean field. Just wondering, have any of you ever killed teal / ducks in a flooded bean field in SW LA???

I've never seen a flooded bean field, except for maybe half a day after a downpour. Like noodle creek said, bean fields don't have levees. Bean fields are designed to run the water off as fast as possible. Now after they cut the beans, the farmer could pull a new levee then flood it

Bean fields are great for geese and doves!

Maybe they planted beans instead of rice. Soybean prices are sky high right now

The beans will be cut then flooded. They will put up a new levee.

The bean field is where the blind is. The teal hole will be in a small rice cut - but not where the blind is.

For teal season you really do not need a big area of open water...

Mines done just need water. I did it because the ruts r so big I don't wanna chance it when it's flooded n stick my sled. The bean fields round us r standing tall as well with doves all over em.

Your beans will probably be cut in october if i had to guess. The farmer can pull up levees and get you water for big duck season. I've done well in cut beans for ducks and geese. As far as teal season, i've opened up water the friday before opening day and always smashed em, so don't be stressed out over that
