Default hurt dog

just got in from working my lab and he wouldnt sit or jump like normal. Noticed a hard lump behind what I would call his elbow on his rear leg. Its definitely not on the other leg and when i push on him to sit( force him) he lays on the opposite leg as to take the weight of the other one. Tuesday when I was working him he hit a hole and barrel rolled a coupletimes but after that never acted different. then yesterday didnt work him but let him out and he didnt act different. today he wouldnt sit but would run and retrieve if i didnt make him sit. When I forced him to sit and sent him to retrieve he would slowly get up then run and retrieve. any ideas? pulled muscle? banged up and bruised? if he's doing it friday I'll bring him by the vet I guess.

I hope I am not correct, but it sounds like a torn or ruptured ACL. Consult a vet immediatley for x-rays and diagnosis. Surgery is an option if that is the diagnosis, but it's expensive.

Feel it to see if it is soft or hard.
If it is soft, it may not be bad.
If it is a hard lump, that is not good.

Both my last 2 labs had some kind of fatty tumor on their hind leg around the joint.
It was not maglinent, just removed and sewed up.

Shawn, I don't want to scare you, but I would not hunt that dog. I would not let him do ANYTHING! I would crate him up, give him some Ibuprofen and get him to a vet. If it is a tear, do not let him run or "spring" for anything.

yeah,my old lab has some of those fatty tumors. The vet said not to really worry about em.but that sounds like something that should be taken a look at.

vet said he has a tear in the muscle belly in his hamstring if that makes since. Said it reminded him of Joe Namath. They are supposed to try and line something up with LSU for me to bring him there and they try and do surgery on him.
