Question Suzuki help ???!!

I have a friend with a 99 225 Suzuki and he tells me that his mechanic told him his motor will not flush with ears and he has to run it a river every time. He claims the motor has to be submerged. This makes absolutely no sense to me. If it will pull water from river/lake why not from a force fed hose??

That's what the book says. I have a 115 and run it all the time on the hose and will keep doing It. Never had a problem. It's just a failsafe with warranty work.

Some zukes have an additional suction under cavitation plate. So without blocking it off or submerging the entire lower unit, it will not get sufficient water flow.

If your zuk has the additional water suction under the cav plate, prior to using the ears for flushing put a piece of duct tape over the extra suction.
