remove the box and look on the back side for a nut or bolt, if you don't see one then you have to separate the two case halves to access it.
wouldn't be a bad idea IMO to open it up and clean, inspect the cable ends for freying, and regrease everything inside it regardless |

these are not too bad to take apart...Ive been in mine quite a few times changing cables before...your gonna want to unbolt it and lay it with the handle side down...remove the back cover to split the case...there is a bolt right in the middle holding the lever on...check that...be care and pay attention to the key switch orientation, cables n linkages and the trim switch wires. Anybody should be able to handle this if you take your time. It may be open like this one to just access it from the back side after you unbolt it from the boat.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1391220980.134791.jpg

If its open in the back well...simple, tighten up the bolt and re-mount it to the boat.

Its that center bolt that is loose. I spoke to jmarine and he walked me thru how to do it. Thanks for the tip. I am going to take it off the boat tomorrow and give it a try. Looks like the hardest part is going to be taking the control box off the boat.
