Default Catahoula Lake 5/31/14

I hit up Catahoula Lake on Saturday from 12:30 to around 4. Fished 3 poles at my usual spot and the water was VERY high. Rain was expected so didn't think I would see much action. Boy was I wrong.

I know it's not a LOT of fish but it will make a few nice meals. Tried a different rig this time. Instead of just sinking my bait to the bottom, I used a Lazer Wire single drop rig setup. Within 15 minutes I had my first fish. A regular sized 12" cat.

I let my line out a little further than usual and hit the honey hole. When I reeled in the big boy I was amped. Biggest fish I've ever caught. Reeled in a couple more nice channel cats and called it a day with all the rain. All in all, I'll take that every time.
