Default Duck hunting trip

Me and some buddies thinking about making a duck hunting trip somewhere. We went to North Dakota last year and might go back this year but looking for something closer. Looking for a more do it yourself hunt then a guided trip. Anybody been to Oklahoma or Nebraska?

I can get you set up with some guided Oklahoma trips. Got friends and family that are duck killing machines up there!

This is the best kept secret around. I live and hunt a lot in northeast Ar and we have some great hunts but have talked to several ppl that go and hunt public in Ok w very good results. Limits are more liberal also.

Not sure you save any money with do it urself hunts after dragging all the gear. Scouting is a big time and money killer also. Freelanced ND last year and it was a PIA and we flew into Fargo. Driving 12 hrs to drive even more scouting for birds just doesn't sound like enough sugar for a nickel IMO. Make sure you get plenty of references, 10% of the outfitters kill 90% of the birds, the rest just seperate the sheep from their money.

x2 Wildlife Farms in Ak has an amazing lodge you can jump in a boat in the oxbow behind the camp and fish after the hunt, Shoot skeet at the range, or do pheasant and quail hunt. Im sure Sally And Daniel would work with you if you wanted to have a "do it yourself hunt" Good people there, awesome food, and plenty of ducks!

I've been wanting to try Carter's Big Island in southeast Kansas. They're featured sometimes on migration nation. Flooded corn fields and timber. A lot of Mallards!!

Oklahoma has great public duck hunting with minimal pressure. Just keep an eye on the weather as it can turn bad very quickly in those parts.

Was in Kansas this spring turkey hunting. Every farm pond had ducks in it. Asked the locals and most had never even shot at a duck in there life. As far as I could tell most just deer hunted and maybe a few turkey hunted.
