Default GM flip key

Have a "flip key" for a buick that acts like the spring to filp the key out and hold tension when closed is codded. My daughter brought it by the dealership and they said $200 will fix it. B S! Anyone have a problem like this before? I'm thinking maybe a locksmith might be able to help me out. Any ideas?

Sounds like they want to just replace it... not fix it.

If you can't get the spring fixed... an option may be to have the dealer cut a valet key and you could use that along with the existing fob. it would be a whole lot less expensive than getting a new key/fob combo.

Ebay has them sometimes, you will have to get it programed for vehicle but may be worth looking into

Crack it open and fix the spring.
