Default Dularge, LA Inshore Fishing Update

Every year at the end of summer our area is infiltrated with schools of thousands of redfish. No one has ever really been down there to know for sure but like clockwork these fish gather in the deepest darkest holes of the upper brackish marsh and ride out the boiling waters of the south Louisiana summer heat in the depths below. For as long as I can remember this behavior has lasted through the months of August and September. As a kid growing up on the salt, I remember these places being overrun with boats so bad you could walk across the bayou on them. Still, these fish have endured the pressure and continue to replicate this same ritual year after year.

Since my last report, the main target has obviously been redfish with some trout trips upon request. There are still trout offshore and nearshore in the areas of lower Dularge and the Atchafalaya delta. As summer closes, these fish will migrate further inland in pursuit of the abundant white shrimp where seagulls will reveal their exact locations. While the redfishing has been a blast, I for one am ready to start slaying trout again.
