Default Work trout

This morning I walked onto our dock and could see a bunch of trout chasing bait. Made relief at 0430, and fished till 0500. Caught 6 and lost 3 others.

Beats sitting at a desk! What were they chasing and what did you throw to em?
Been having trouble catching em lately when they're chasing live bait.

Nice catch. Must be nice to work that close to the water and catch a few here and there.

I don't have a vast knowledge of saltwater bait fish, but they were small shad type fish. I was throwing a glow and chartreuse sand eel shad on a 1/8th oz jig head. fishing it quickly close to the top.
