Back in Action
After wrecking the trailer on Friday, I found another one in Biloxi that was for a 22ft Triton Sea Flight. It was a custom trailer so I will have to modify a bit but it seems to be in good shape and it is aluminum. I got it for $1600. It has fluid bearings. Anyone know anthing about these? Picked it up Sat. Night. Found out that that the clicking noise that I thought my engine was making was just the broken transducer slapping the back of the boat. Thank goodness for my friends and the use of their trailers because it would have taken me a month to get everything going again. Can't wait to hit the lake again (no pun intended)! |

I had some issues awhile back with trailer issues. I had to change some bearings and an axel on a new trailer because after a little investigation the JA's did not pack the hubs. Anyway when doing this I inquired about the fluid filled. Both trailer dealers recommended that I stick with the grease packed hubs. Their biggest reson was if you blow a seal the grease will stay in the hub and get you home, where as the fluid would leak out and cause a failure resulting in fried bearings. If you keep them i would bring it in to someone who knows how to service them. You may pay a little extra but i am sure you dont want to end up launching your boat off a tow truck again.

You can avoid the narrow lanes on I-210 by getting off and heading south before you get to this area.
There are several options when doing this but this maybe the best. Get off on Hwy 14 and go ~ 3 miles and turn right on Gauther Rd. Go ~ 6 miles and take a left on to Big Lake road. From there.....you are ~ 2 miles from Calcasieu Pt landing turn off. |

210 work...
What is ridiculous is ... that I drive a little away from the barracade to make sure I don't hit... then the overpass/bridge forces you to make a quick adjustment toward the barracade... and make a tight squeeze through it! I don't look out my mirrors... I just ride right through it. It is definately tight!!!!
