Default Persistence and two man limit

Fished my trip I cancelled Sunday. One of the guys made today and other cancelled and wish he wouldn't have. I tried to catch trout from black lake, in and around joes cove, washout, west cove, and by now its 10am and that red bite I was on in Turners yesterday is looking real good right now but I'm committed south now and end back up just south of pilots station where the storms ran me off two trips before yesterdays. Started to go there first this am but northeast wind was hammering early. It wasn't a fast trout bite by any means but there was a pattern as the tide came in and out. Stayed with it and pulled a two man limit out of one spot. Headed back to launch around 1-130.

Last couple trips been fun after rain cooled water. Specks put on a show today jumping out the water and hitting the bait really hard.

I still like and seems trout like the finger mullet best but last few trips been catching most on pogies. I got some live shrimp today trying to catch them as close to calcasieu point as I could but got nothing til I got south of oyster bayou. Well the biggest trout was caught in west cove along with a 14" er and the rest south . I had 4 finger mullet and caught 4 nice trout on them. Fish in west cove were chasing pogies and the ones south chasing pogies too. Most of the fish were caught on pogies. Fish did not seem stacked up rather running back and forth with outgoing and incoming tides. When the bait came by the fish were either there too or not far behind. Fun is day and after the sun came out and stayed out had the top up hanging in the shade

I been going 2-3 sometimes 4 days a week and its definitely easier to stay on em going that often. I have never fished the channel as much as I have this year. Always learning !
