Churn Two Days of Fun!!

Got invited to accompany 2 great friends Friday and Saturday afternoon for some fishing at Big lake. Went last Wednesday on the north end and caught some reds so we decided to go south on these trips. Water was stained Friday where we were but the fish got active late and we caught 20 keeper trout and 1 red. Put the hook in about 40 but had some pickles and some got off at the boat. The red came on the ole "dredge for reds" technique. For those who are not in the know that's when you pretend to have or really have a backlash and you just dredge the bottom with your bait as the boat drifts and when you reel it up a big red has swallowed your stuff!!! My buddy caught big trout of the day- about 3.5 lbs and I lost one over 4. Color was chartreuse for us on Friday.
On Saturday we were in the same area and the water was much prettier but the bite was slower. We had 8 specks and 1 red but all the fish were much better size and the color was opening night/chart tail.
The laugh meter was pegged the whole time we fished. Such a great time with some great folks. You know, everyone likes to catch and then there are those who like to FISH. It is a pleasure to fish with people who enjoy the process of fishing, whether they are catching or not. When they do catch,(and if you enjoy fishing you will end up catching), it is an absolute BLAST!!! Thank you Jesus for wonderful friends, a love for fishing and a great place to fish! EC
