Exclamation Pro Speck Series Update

The recent heavy oil washing up on the shores of our coast and LDWF closures of more fishing areas, has prompted SFA to postpone the Slidell stop on the 2010 Pro Speck Series from June 5 & 6 until August 7 & 8. We are postponing this event until we can be certain that the Lakes Pontchartrain and Borgne areas will not be affected by the oil spill.

Unfortunately, Stop #4 originally set for July 31 & August 1 in Fourchon, will be moved and rescheduled for late August. The new location and date for this stop will be announced within the upcoming weeks.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

curious... why postpone an event that was actually scheduled in an area that is still open?

St Tammany Tourism made the suggestion and SFA tournament officials, along with the owner of The Dock, agreed to postpone it as a precaution. Also most of the hotels we had blocked for the tournament cut our block for workers, oil company reps, etc.
