Default kerns after saints game

a buddy and I headed to kerns after the saints game yesterday. we got to the launch and the vegetation was real bad at the launch. we managed to put the boat in and had to stay in the pit to fish....caught over 10 bass and three sacs all in all not bad for a short afternoon. most were caught on frogs and buzz baits....one of the pics is of my buddy with his very first bass!!!!!!

Gotta love the louisiana outdoors ;-)

The canal going to the lake is public, the lake is private property. I heard what sounding like gun shots and looked up and they were shooting fireworks to get my attention. lol

That is where I got ran out of,private property. Unless you know someone, good fishing back there. The canal going to get there can also be good. I would not eat fish out of there, but fun to catch and release. Close to home if you live in lafayette. Be careful at the beaver park launch aka queer park. lol

lol @ beaver park.. always heard about it then one morning I went squirrel hunting and they were EVERYWHERE creepin around in their Corollas. F'n sick

But yea thats the same place. my buddy has a key. its very and deep and the banks have about a 10 foot shallow shelf before a sharp drop off.. its kinda hard to fish. how u caught em in there?

would it be considered navigable wateway being that you could get there from the verm??

I only fished back there that one time....only caught one bass on a med diving crankbait before they ran me off. Yes it would be considered navigable waterway, but there is always bs loop holes. The canal off the vermillion is pretty good to fish, caught some bass around 3 lbs. Also have some big sacalait in there, but I would not eat them with the nasty water off the vermillion flowing in there. If yall want to give it a shot don't run on step once you get into the canal off the river, lots of underwater trees and stumps.
