I started to go up that canal just pasted the airport one time....but with all the logs and trees in there I turned around. I worked with a guy that was on the ULL ski team back many years ago.

Yeah there is alot of stuff underwater in there. Most of the time when I go back there I just drop the trolling motor and start fishing right where river branches off into the canal.

have done well in the Butte Larose cannal as of late, this was my forst trip in months to kerns oit and there are a ton of fish in there....just hard to launch due to the veg at launch.....had a buddy catch pretty good in the philips last weekend too.....thats all I know

Probably gonna do Kerns again Wed.
Fished Butte LaRose Canal Mon with 8 bass, 1 keeper size.
Today @ public launch with only 2 small fish and hardly any bites.
Maybe full moon got em feeding different times?

Have a buddy thats been catching 30 to 40 bass with 5 to 10 keepers over in bayou benoit. he told me spinnerbaits and plastic worms have been the best.. One day last week he put his boat in and didnt even crank the motor just started working the bank right by the luanch..

Passed by Kerns this morning, lots of water lillies but smelled like 2-4-D so that should help things out eventually...

Neat looking spot, if anyone can post when things clear out it would be appreciated...
