Thanks Mike. You sure could make things easier if you'd give up a couple of them spots. Better yet....we'll just follow you. I promise I won't even throw a topwater. |

D, you use right or wrong-handed reels?

right handed is the only way to go on baitcasters and left on spinning

I got "educated" on those under water rocks when I first started fishing Big Lake. I thought I could just drift over them while fishing and quckly raised the engin when it hit the first rock.

I enjoy baitcasters but I just can not throw as far with them. When I am wading during winter months I use them to finese fish, with grubs extremely slow. I prefer my Shimano Spin cast for offshore fishing. Laced with 80lb. braid and a 100lb. fluorocarbon leader. Hard to beat that rig for throwing topwaters for Tuna or jigging for Ling..

It's kinda on the south end of the lake running east and west. Just north of the East Fork(old river) East of the ship channel, West of Grand Bayou and Lambert Bayou.

Old Jetties (GPS)
29°50'37.40"N 93°18'15.36"W ..........put that into google maps and it will put you dead center. They kinda' run at an angle. Yeah........I have to admit that I've sacrificed a prop to them. Talk about ruin a fishing trip.

Old Jetties east end: 29*50.95 N; 93*17.93 W
Old Jetties west end: 29*50.664 N; 93*19.585 W The old jetties run between those two coordinates. I don't know how to put the degree sign so I used the asterick in its place. |
