Default Shell Beach-Hopedale 11/07

Launched out of Campo's late about 7:30 and headed down MRGO into the marsh. Had a good falling tide just as predicted. Got to my favorite spot only to find 6 other boats there all with hookups. Had to settle for a place well within a bayou but could only peck away at trout.Moved to another runout about 9:00 and trout were slamming everything thown under a cork.
The tide bottomed out about 12:30 and moved several times . Stopped and tried a hole on the way in and started slamming nice founder. Was back at the launch by 2:30 to catch the game and head home.
Talley: 47 nice trout- 2 reds(15+ rats released)- 1 drum- 2 "goatheads"-
22-flounder (caught in 45- minutes) with squid- a bunch of
breakoffs(big drum?)
Baits: 100 live shrimp- plastics -reactions LSU chubs- Hybrids flurries-H H
spit tail sparkle beetle- Left over squid from an off shore trip

Good trip-will try to post a pic of a "trophy" east trout caught on a 3" flurry- as big as it was!!!

A longer run from Campo's to areas around 4/horse, I'd rather ride than the long lines and launch madness of BSM early in the AM. May try launching from Delacroix next but will have to get new waypoints on the GPS. The west may have "big Lake"-the east(hopedale) has "1-qt lake" where you could get a nice catch and not use more than a qt of fuel or run the twin pipelines to seroius marsh.
