Default reds in the surf

Fished the surf on Saturday with the family and buddybeagle. We ended up with a nice mess of fish. The weather could have been a little better but overall it eas a nice day of fishing with my family. We used cut mullet and had an incoming tide.

A friend of ours and his family fished with us. It was their first saltwater trip. They had a blast and took home 6 nice fish. Their 15 and 13 year old sons caught the biggest fish of their lives Saturday. That alone was worth the trip. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a big smile on a kiddos face.

Yeah, I'm with you. I was talking with my daughter earlier this week about getting a couple of her teenage cousins down there fishing. I kinda wish we weren't tied up in late January, but it looks like we'll be we need to sneak down in early January and them maybe again in late February.

After learning your tricks on the beach and picking up a couple of real surf rigs, we might even leave the boat in Baton Rouge this trip.

Aint nothing better than seeing some kiddos have the time of their life. It makes it all worth it. That's what its all about to me.

nice fish. especially glad to hear the kids are having a blast. assuming when you say "surf" you're referring to Holly Beach/Johnson's Bayou area?
