Question mini kota riptide help

i have a minkota riptide trolling motor and today it died. i was trolling in the marsh and hit a couple of mud spots not too bad. well i started drifting with the current. next time i fired up the trolling motor it was making a wierd sound. I know this sounds funny but it sounded like a race car. it would take a while to get to full speed and sounded like it had pipes on it. well i was hot and got tired so we shut it down and came home. when i got home it won't do nothing now. checked all the wiring to batteries and connections. any one have any ideas?? its only about 2 1/2 years old.

had the same problem with mine, where the prop is, there is a nut there, go to wal-mart and buy a trolling motor accessory kit, its got the nut wrench, an extra nut and a few shear pins. You sheared a pin in your motor, when you take that nut off, you'll see what im talking about. Take the prop off and the pin will be in 3-5 pieces. Get the replacement package either at wally-world or academy and problem solved. Along with a 6-pack and its as good as new.

no it ain't that that was my first thought. (it has happened before.) The motor won't even turn on you can't hear it running or anything. has to be something electrical or something. Do these things have a warranty?

Did you check the reset switch on the little box connected to the positive post on the battery? Happened to me last week.

no fuse in the head. should of had a breaker inline. might have burnt the control unit up or maybe the motor. they do have a warranty which is 1 year.

Default Hmmm

If it ran ,Then ran w/ a lot of noise . Then won't run at all.
It sounds like water got in the foot and the motor is kaput.
Take it in if its under warrenty and let the shop pull the foot down and check for water . Seen a bunch that hit bottom or stumps and cracked the sealant that is on the threads of the shaft where it screws into the foot.
