Default Help me pick a Navionics card

I am looking for a map card for a new gps and have been looking at the Navionics website for a long time and it seems the longer I look at it the more confused I get. So, I thought I would come to the Salty Cajun experts for some advice. My fishing is split between the marshes in south Louisiana and freshwater lakes in the northern portion of the state. Don't do any offshore fishing. If anyone here fishes these areas and has used a Navionics card I would appreciate your input on what you have and how well you like it.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Charlie

I am in the same boat. Haha!! I am subscribed to hear what the experts say. I'm leaning towards the south platinum card.

What type of unit do you have? Standard mapping has some nice maps, but they are only available for lowrance.

I like the coverage this card affords but am concerned about what the maps of the coastal marshes shows. I don't know of anyone who has this card so the marsh coverage is a big unknown for me.

Let me know if you get to look at one of these maps.

Thanks for the reply.

I run a platinum + card for the southern coast & it has a Google earth image overlay option showing all of the coverage area as an image on top of the mapping data.
