150 Mercury 4 stroke or Optimax

I would go with the four stroke. They are way quieter,smoother,and don't have to buy oil all the time. Fuel economy will be about the same.

Are the opti's that much louder? I always thought optimax was a quieter than a normal two stroke.

The four stroke is 3x quieter than the opti. I am talking about the 3.0 EFI,not the verado.

That is correct. I am not looking at the Verado. The salesman said the fuel economy is a little better on the opti but you spend the extra money on oil. They seem too similar to me. Why is mercury producing two engines that have almost identical performance?

I went with the Pro XS. Had several dealers tell me bad things about the 4 stroke. Really wanted another Suzuki but you can not get it on a nitro
