Default baitwell aerator issue?

My baitwell aerator hums when I turn it on and sounds normal, but the water only vibrates a bit and no bubbles are generated. Any suggestions as to what the problem is? Don't suppose this is normal.

Take the defuser off the end of the hose and see if air comes out of the hose. It is common for the defuser to get stopped up. If you get air out of the hose, then just get a new defuser from Academy.

If not try to take the hose off and see if it's clogged as your next step then the tip of the aerator

Default Sorry to be such a novice

about these things....but my livewell looks like it's got some kind of black spray head coming in the side of the well. Is this what's supposed to be shooting water into the livewell? Other than that I believe there is just a drain hole at the bottom and I've got an overflow pipe that fits in the hole to keep the water in the tank when out of the water. Don't think I've ever seen water shooting out of the black spray head.....does it need to be twisted or turned to get the water to come out when the aerator is on? Guess it could be clogged or need to be changed.

Water should come out the spray head. Some have an adjustment for flow amount, maybe it's turned closed. The overflow tube is used on the water. It keeps a certain level in the tank.

I suppose I can check it out while its trailered by just putting the overflow pipe in and filling the baitwell with water? Does the water level need to be over the sprayer head or no? If I can't get it going I will take a picture and post.

Not sure how yours is set up but most pump from the lake and fill up your bait well. Then it keeps fresh water coming in and the old water going out the overflow. Your boat will need to be in the water to test the pump, not on the trailer

Correct. The head should have a valve on it or turn to adjust it.

I do know that my baitwell fills up with water whether or not I turn on the aerator. I do have a water pickup screen on the bottom of the boat that probably picks up water when underway.

I'll just have to check again next time I'm out on the water....thanks!
