Default Anyone Crabbing

I was wanting to know if anyone has been catching any crabs in Rockerfeller or Sabine Refuges. When I come in from offshore I would like to catch a few. Any reports would be appreciated.

heading down to Holly Beach area tomorrow. Hope to catch a few dozen. Not bringing the boat. My 76 y/o mom is wanting some blue crabs to eat so I'm gonna see what I can do. Looking for a camp ground somewhere down there also. I know of Ellenders Bridge, Hackberry but I would like something at Holly beach if possible or I guess I could go to Johnson Bayou if need be. Is the camping area opened in Cameron at the jetties? Thanks for any info.

The parish campground on the east side of the shipping channel near the jetties is pretty nice.

Do you mean Josephs harbor itself (where you get to the entrance of the gulf), or do you mean the various weirs at rockefeller? I've caught crabs at josephs harbor, and their usually big, but you dont normally catch very many.

Default Rockafeller

We went yesterday and only caught 18 crabs in about the first 15mins of LEGAL crabbing time then they shut down. I say LEGAL because of the amount of people that do not follow the LEGAL Sunrise time over there. I hope it was just the wind messing the crabs up yesterday....I would like enough for a boil soon.

I changed my mind about putting my boat in all that wind at Joseph's Harbor...wish I would not have. I figured we could catch enough crabs from the bank fast enough...should have put the boat in . Great Job!
