Just don't but the cheaper lews ($100). Mine sucks.... I have a Revo going on 8 years strong!! Smooth as butter still and I do little to no maintenance on it

I've had different luck, but I tear mine down often. RevoS and SS1SH, just ordered two more SSs.

I fish with both and love them both but if you put that lews in saltwater it will be trash

By put it in salt water do you mean it going swimming ? I've been using my tourney pro for a year in saltwater only and it's still going good. They just came out with a inshore model too. I rinse them every trip and oil them every other trip.

I fish with the Lewis tourney pro speed spools with zero problem and stay smooth. I also have revo s, premier, and mgx and they are great but I have had trouble with the braking system on the revo s.

worm. I don't have all that money like you got. My revos are getting some age and I'm not impressed with the rev3. The only thing I don't like is that the lews are 1+ oz heavier than my revos. AND I have a revo winch on my deep crank rod and I can launch a 6xd a mile. I don't want to lose that switching to lews. I don't fish in salt water so that isn't an issue. The majority of the lews im gonna buy is the tournaments and tournament mgs.

My Lew's outcasts both my RevoS, I've switched strings and rods in every config you can just to test them, and the Lew's wins every time. Not to mention it was cheaper... Have only fished salt with them, oddly enough my shimanos (youngest reels I own, and are spinning)are what are giving me problems.

Find someone with them and throw what you like, then decide. In reality, every company makes a bad product sooner or later, and proper upkeep and maintenance prevent most of the common complaints with any of them.

Ever see a guy running down the road with stuff stacked up higher than the roof of his truck, yet nothing falls out???? Well, if I do that I wouldn't get out the driveway, same thing with everything I own - I'm not lucky enough to be able to use a reel as a wheel chock, or shotgun as an anchor and still have it work flawlessly.

I can't say I've done a thorough comparison but I do know that all the Lews reels I own have been fantastic. I have 2 speed spools. 3 Tournament MGs, and one Team Lews Pro.
All have performed flawlessly. I seriously don't think you can find a better reel for the money than the $99 speed spool. There are several reputable sellers on ebay that sell this model for around $75. If I could afford it, I'd own all Team Lews Pro reels. That's one fantastic reel. Lightest of the bunch but pricy at $300.
All in all, one tough little reel and hard to beat for the money. Wired2Fish.com has a good review you should check out.
Also, I've heard some pretty bad reviews about the Revo3. Quite a few bad reviews on the Abu website.

I own one revo S. the rest are Sx and winch that I own. so, comparing the $150 Lews to the lowest quality Revo doesn't help out. I am going to replace a few of my older Revos with the tournament MGs. and go from there
