I refuse to take one. I'll take the ticket. Been runnin a boat all my life inshore and off. Just cuz a bunch of punks started buying boats and some punk game wardens think they know what's goin on. I'll take the ticket.

Just let them take it. It won't hurt and maybe they will learn something extra.

Boating safety is 95% common sense. Some people don't have any and shouldn't be drivin a boat. From what I hear the stuff in that course deals with driving a ship rather an aluminum boat. Those wit no sense will take the course and still drive on the wrong side of the channel cut u off run in ur drift and get mud flatted. Common sense And the worst is game wardens. Most have none.

I was the same way when I had to take Hunters Safety course. I had already hunted my whole life and new what was right & wrong. HOWEVER, I don't consider myself above the law, and the law required I take the course. I suggest you do the same. Luckily for you I guess you don't need this course to get your fishing license, though I do think it should be a requirement, much like the hunters safety is to getting your hunting license.

your lucky enough to have been exposed at a young age to boating...some people were not, so this is one way they can gain knowledge on boating other than someone yelling at them on the water from a haynie...

Yea. Let's put more laws restricting our rights. That's what we need. More government.

I agree some people need some direction. What what irks me is that it's the 35-40 year olds that all their friends have haynies so they think they need one and the go out and wreck it and they don't have to take a course. But it's because of them that I do have to take it.

This test is literally for someone getting ready to pilot a aircraft carrier in a battle group up the Mississippi....not for everyday boaters....example question from test: what buoy has green and red vertical stripes, two solid horizontal white stripes, four triangles and 3 blinking red lights?? ***

The Lake Charles Sail and Power Squadron gives this test.
They give all the info. before the test, kinda like a real time study course.
After that, if you don't pass, you ain't too bright.

I took the free course and have a certificate. Now, how do I get a permanent card. They didnt say anything about sending me one. Should I send this in to the LDWF office? Will they accept it???

Doest say anything about $15 either. Just that they can mail you a copy of your cert for $5. Called the LDWF and guy told me I should have one in the mail.

Which site are you taking it on?
