Headknocker Minkota or Motorguide

I am in need of a bow mount trolling motor to put on my 16-50 xpress boat, my question is as the title states which is a better trolling motor minkota or motorguide, and i would imagine there isn't much if any difference between the ones for sale at walmart compared to elsewhere, walmart has a 12v 54lb motorguide for $298 with 1year warranty, i am going to look around the lafayette area to see what is available
