Default Veterans on the water

If I wanted to take veterans on the the water to get away from "real life" is there an organization that I can be a member of that does this type of work? Just want to see if there any fishing clubs that do this. PM if needed. Thanks!

Nothing that I have heard of around here. There is one called healing waters that is around the east coast I believe. That might have some chapter around here.

If nothing else you could take me fishing. Just joking though I am a vet.

You might contact Hero Hunts. They are a local organization that takes vets hunting, might be a good addition to their program

Sounds like a great idea. With time being limited during hunting season, taking vets fishing would be easier for most people.

I work for Hero hunts. We are already starting to line up a couple fishing trips. Would love to have some additional boats on board. Our Prodrive will ready Septemberish. We planned on atleast running some redfish trips this fall.

Sounds like a plan to me. I'm hoping my work schedule will allow me to bring some vets hunting this year also.

Where are you plannng these trips out of? I can take at least two guys with me if you need extra boats. I live in Belle chasse and mostly fish around Barataria.

I have 2 camps lined up at the Boston canal (vbay) if anyone is interested in running an extra boat. Weather pending I would like to do it by the end of the month.

There is an organization out of North Carolina that used to take me when I was active duty. It's called MilitaryAppreciationDay.org They might be able to give you some help with starting your own chapter down here.

They were great events. Everything was paid for and at the end of the day your catch was cleaned and all you had to do was bring an ice chest to transport it back home in.

There were events at the dock for the families as well.
