Cocodrie help!
I am wanting to plan a trip to Cocodrie for sometime in July and could use any help I can get...where to stay? Where to start? etc... Also, where can I get a good map of the area? I will be pulling my 17ft bass boat down there to fish out of. Will I be ok with that smaller boat? I would love to catch a few reds and flounder if possible this time of year. A nice bonus would be if the wife could catch some crabs and shrimp! |

This time of year you can’t go wrong with Lake Boudreaux for reds. If that does not work try the Houma navigational canal or the marsh across from the landing by Boudreaux marina.

Get a Guide! My buddy and I spent the last three weekends fishing Saturday and Sunday trying to learn the waters and get on the fish. All of his neighbors at his camp would giv eus suggestions. We would catch 15-20/day but never mauled them. Finally last weekend we broke down and hired a guide. Captain Aaron put us on em. We left them biting at 2 with 50 specks, 25 whities, 6 reds, a flounder, and a sheephead for good luck.
Notice I was representing the Skull Draggerz T-shirt! |

I am having trouble justifying that kind of money for a guide...sure I may not catch as many fish, but I won't be broke!
Any of the guides allow follow boats for a fee? |
