I launch at Delta Marina. It is closer to out lodge and a whole lot nicer. Plus I can pull up there in the morning and get everything I possibly need gas, ice, baits, food etc. They have a launch pass for the year for 250 bucks. Cant beat that. Thats 25 launches a year then the rest are free. Plus you dont have to wade through the water to get to your truck or boat. That place is first class. A little tip to everyone. DO NOT LAUNCH AT THE FORT JACKSON LAUNCH. There has been many trucks that had roofing nails in their tires. They got hit twice. Nails in all tires truck and trailor. Go to Lloyds or Delta or if you have to Venice

Yeah well I never got his nunber or he never called me. I talked to him yesterday and he was telling me all about it. The bad thing was... W when you tected me I had just literally pulled in my driveway at home in Luling from down there. I fished on saturday and stayed the night to drink a few and slept in... Ha And Mo I tell you you will love Delta. the only downfall is that you have to go through the locks, but they shoot you through pretty fast and its about 7 0r 8 mins to Lloyds launch. Well worth going a few more minutes by boat and launch at a first class place. Because Lloyds is a dump. I only launch there during hunting season with my huntin boat. Im not banging up my good boat over there unless I have to. And if anyone is ever down there and ever runs into a bind, give me a call if I can help. If im not down there I am pretty sure I can find someone to help. That goes for everyone, even if I dont know ya. Be safe out there. my number if anyone ever needs anything is 504 382 2370

We went east.
West is off right now.River is way to high and no matter where you go on the west you can't fing good water.
We had to go about 15 miles N/E from the ostrica locks to find clean water.

Capt. Matt,I will try delta.
Only thing that bothers me is that dang river.
It's bad enough crossing it,not sure how I feel about going down stream a few miles.
Heck, when we launched they had a friggin supertanker pass the launch going I swear to god 35 mph.

That river is bookin it right now.

Mo I used to feel the same way. What kind of boat u got? I tell you I run that thing in the winter in my 16 ft hunting boat with a mud buddy on it. Its a bad feeling when you get halfway out in that river and the ship seems like its going a 100 mph up or down that river, and its closing in on you fast. Going over them big wakes in a duck boat is very spooky. When I first started running the river I hated it. I was so scared of it because I know what it can do. but if you got a 17 or 18 ft boat you should be good. the summer time is mostly s or se winds and the south or western shoreline is always calm and you can run close to the rocks all the way down. Its really not that bad, but if you feel safer at Lloyds then its all good. Go where you have confidece and feel safe. But if you down on a calm day and want to give it a shot its not bad at all.
