never said I dont tip, just said it pisses me off. They gotta walk like 10 feet. Dont get me started on the pizza guy.

Here is why I have hard feelings. While in college I worked at a local garden center as a laborer making $7.25 an hour. My responsibility included making deliveries. I would have to unload 150 bags of mulch, or 5 100# pots, or big oak trees, or giant fountains. Heavy back breaking stuff. But rarely did I recieve a tip. A guy walks a pizza to your front door and he gets 2 or 3 dollars, JUST because it is a food service. I always pick up my own pizza.

When i was H.S. i moonlighted at West Building materials working with my brother. The manager was a friend of the family so he let me in the garden center during Christmas time selling Christmas trees, that was the worst job I ever had, brings out the pickyness in everyone, not to mention you covered in sap and getting stuck by pine needles. out of the 100 or so trees i sold I might have made $10 in tips.

If I feel they deserve it... Same with hunting guides. If they put out extra effort to make it a remarkable trip even if we don't limit out. I will tip

What was the pizza delivery driver hired to do? Hell no, he doesn't need a tip. That was what he was hired to do. One the other hand, you may want to tip him if you get delivery often. He may hook ya up with a lil something extra if he delivers to you often and he doesn't get any change.

I can tell you've never delivered pizzas or waited tables.
Pizza delivery drivers , waiters and waitresses all are hired for a good bit less than minimum wage between $2 -$3 on the basis that there tips will guarantee them minimum wage.
If you get bad service don't ever leave nothing , leave a nickle. that way the person that waited on you knows that you thought about it and aren't just another stiff.
If the food is not cooked to your liking or the steak is not correct ,Don't take it out on the wait person. they don't cook ,they just take your order and serve.
If you get bad service or food ,PLEASE let the management know about it!
Nothing can be corrected if the problem is not known.
Also if you get exceptional service or food let the management know about that too.

I delivered pharmaceuticals last summer, didnt make a single dollar in tip. What I did get, though, was a sense of helping people and making a difference in their lives.

Didn't know the pizza guy deal worked that way. I've never delivered pizza. I was too busy bustin my azz offshore between semesters and working for the university during the semester to pay my way through college. It's all about choices. Sorry for his misfortune. Hope they told him tips weren't guaranteed.

If I can help an 80 year old lady enjoy her last days on this earth without pain, I have no prob doing it.

I was probably the most underpaid drug dealer in LC

You are correct. If you have a CC machine for ANY type food business it is pre-programmed in the unit. Business owners cannot re-program the unit.

Don't feel obilgated to tip at self service places unless the server is very friendly and goes out of her/his way to help you.

I tip sonic servers about 50 cents to $1 depending on how fast my food comes out.

I tip pizza delivery drivers cause the gas is so dang high and they pay for it. $2.00 - $3.00

I am a pharmaceutical rep so if I order food to go from chilis or o'charleys I tip the to-go person about $5 to $10 depending on how big my order is. They are usually the ones going to the kitchen, bagging the food, putting it in take out containers, getting drinks, etc. In essence they are doing what a waitress does.
