Default GPS question

My GPS/fishfinder turns OFF when I re- start my boat to move on to another fishing spot. The unit powers on and stays on fine when just starting up, running, then shutting the motor off to stop and fish, when i re-start the motor is when it shuts off. The unit will come right back on as soon as i hit the power button. The unit is a Lowrance LMS 520 (i know, i'm going to upgrade to the HDS 5 soon as this is the unit that came with the boat). Any ideas?

Make sure you are getting enough volts when you start. Low voltage will cause it to reboot. Also see where your unit is connected. May need to move it to "clean" power supply

Sounds like you need to connect to direct 12volt power
You may have connected to wiring associated with start side of the switch
Good luck!
