Default Yamaha F150 break in

Question...can you break in the motor using a large garbage can filled with water to add resistance to the prop, or do you have to run it in the water. I'm referring to the first 2 hours where you can't go over 2000 rpms the first hour and over 3000 rpms the second hour?

Sorry for the dumb question, but this is my first 4 stroke outboard. Hardly any break in on a 2 stroke.

Since you in mandeville go launch in the lake and troll the bridge. You never know , may do some good while burning the gas on breakin.
