Sounds like a prop problem. A whale tail is nothing more than a bandaid for a prop issue. Acadiana Propeller 706-7789

had the prob looked at and it's exactly what they recommend and I really like the speed I get out of the boat it just takes forever to get her nose down but once the nose finally gEts down she takes off like a bat out of hell that's why I was just looking for a way to get her nose down allot faster without changing the prop

Are you trimmed all the way done when you take off? That motor on that small of a boat it should jump right up.

Its a trade off between top end speed and time to plane. Sounds like you are prop'd for top end. There is no magic fix. You can put a whale tale on there, but you will create more drag and loss some speed. How much is TBD.

Some boats do not the right angle to the transom to get enough negative trim. To correct this you can install some transom wedges. Also, you do not have to change the prop. You can get the prop you have reworked to give you the performance your looking for. How many rpm's does the motor rev up at wide open?

Wow you gunna burn her up. I would not run that motor over 5,800. Unless your tach is on the wrong setting you have nowhere near the right pitch prop.

I think the tach is off actually it didn't sound like it was reving that fast

Don't take a chance. You really need to know what the rpm's really are. Don't run wide open until you know for sure. |

From your description, the tack is reading double. I don't know what outboard you have, but turning 4000 rpm at WOT is not healthy for 2 strokes with linkage controlled ignition timing. You can have top end or you can have hole shot, NOT BOTH. At best, you can have an acceptable compromise.

Listen to Cajun Christian, he knows what he is talking about. You need to check your tach but I would bet you have too much prop. Fix prop problem then talk to Cade at Acadiana prop.
