Default Outboard motor oil.. YamaLube vs..?

I run a 150HP VMax Yamaha on my bay boat.
Always used YamaLube oil.

Getting ready to make the 500 mile drive down to fish Venice.

Called my local (and only) dealer in my area to see if he is in stock.
Nope! Won't have any for a week or so.

What is my next best option? QuickSilver??

Final question..
I'm guessing my system uses roughly 3 ounces of oil per gallon of fuel burned. Right??

I believe the motor your talking about is a 2 stroke, if thats the case.

Just make sure you use a good quality semi-synthetic TCW-3 grade or better oil.

Something like this is considered to be at least as good... if not better than yamalube. It certainly wont hurt to run a bit of it through your engine. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pennzoil-M...1-Gal/16401577

What you dont want to do is run any of the super cheap store brand 2 cycle oil in there (like the house brand for walmart, basspro, etc) those are not all tcw3 and definetly not synthetic.

If this makes you worry, then switch back to yamalube after your trip, and run some ring free in it to make yourself happy.

Its not good to switch it gums up oil tank filter and lines. I happened on my 225 before I known better.
Pennzoil will void any warnty you may have.Per a friend and 30 year Yamaha mechanic.

Not sure where your coming from or staying but sure you will pass a lot of boat places that cary yamalube bulk or in gals. Some academy's have it but its HIGH at all the ones I have seen it at. But worth it. In my mind.
