There is a small boat and kayak launch on the West side of Hwy 27 right before you get to bridge going over Choupique Bayou heading South.

Can usually catch reds

When I was a youngster, we would go on the upper end of Choupique bayou and set trot line's. We would fill up an ice chest with catfish.

We used to catch sacalait and bass in the tree tops on the north end and reds and flounders on the south end. And we set trot lines and caught a bunch of cats. Son fishes the south end for reds still and does decent at times.
