Default Marine radio and alpine amp

Anybody in the Lafayette Area know about radios and amps??

My radio turns on, but will not play.. It takes a CD and you can see it play on the screen but, the amps isn't turning on???

I bought my triton with a very expensive sound system on it.. I've already replaced the sony radio once.. It's supposed to water resistant..

I don't have a cover on my radio etc.. The large Alpine is not turning on.. Are amps repairable???

Any help with diagnosing the problem would be very helpful..

Electronically challenged.. Help please..

If you have experience with this stuff let me know..

Thks

If you're amp isnt turning on. Check to see if you have 12v at the remote wire going into the amp. You can run a jumper wire from amp ppsitive to remote input. Also check the fuses in the amp. Check ground and positive wire for.12v as well

If you do run a jumper wire.from your power wire to your remotr make sure to disconnect it as this will cause your amp to constantly stay on.

amps are repairable for the most part. Could be a bad ground or the remote wire as said above. Is the radio water resistant or waterproof? It should be waterproof to ip66 standards. You might also buy a cover for your boat and keep it covered when you are not using it

could also be a fuse between the amp and the power source

I would start by checking fuses on both amp and power source panel.
