Default Joining Leader to Main Line

There has been discussion on this board before on which knot to use when tying a leader. The popular choice was Uni to Uni but I believe there are other knots out there that may be as good or better with particular leader/line combinations. I have recently changed 2 reels over to PP and lost several baits from failure of the braid to leader. If you use the Uni-Uni, how many wraps with the braid and how many with the leader and what size?
I am going to experiment with the Albrite knot on the reel with braid since it is primarily used with swim baits. It hurts too much to see a brand new Fat Boys sailing into the lake with no line attached. Will be using mono to floro until I can figure out what I am doing wrong and tying a double surgeon's knot.

Your knot has to be really clean when joining braid to flouro. And its really hard to tie on thicker flouros like >15lb; they slip more. Try slowly setting your knot by pulling all the tag ends as the knot sets to ensure tight clean wraps.

i use the uni - uni knot with my pp to fluro. i tie the fluro loops first and do 5 wraps then the pp and i will do 3-5 wraps i have never lost a fish due to knot failure make sure when you do your loops/twists that the tag end that youwill be making the loops with is on top of the other and pointing away from the knot kinda hard to explain

Wasn't that a "yes or no" question?

I never can trust my line to line knots. I started using a very small swivel to go from braid or mono to a floro leader. Seems to work fine and you dont get any line twist.

Try a drop of super glue on any not you tie . I use loctite super gel not as messy as the glue . Will not weaken the line.

Me, either. I lost a big fish cause my line-to-line knot came undone. I've tied directly to the bait ever since.

I'm not sure. It was one my buddy used so I tried it. Only thing is...it musta not been intended for Power Pro. The only reason I tried it is because it's almost impossible to work a Spook with Power Pro tied to it.

double uni.....3 or 4 wraps max.

Too many and your knot gets too big. And it breaks as it travels through the eyes of your rod.
