FlagUS new gun

went Friday to cabela's and bought a remington 700 .270 with a nikon 4x12x40 scope. went to the range Saturday and MAN WAS THAT FUN!!!!!!
i still need to set the scope, but it does pretty good. I bought winchester 130gr. bulistik tips.

If it does pretty good with winchester rounds try hornady or remington rounds. I have two remington 700s and neither group well with winchester rounds.

thanks... i was wondering about using remington rounds. is core lokt the same as bulistic tip?

No core lokt is more of a soft point but if your shooting through grass or leaves core lokt is the way to go. If you like making big exit wounds and blowing stuff up then ballistic is the way to go. Hornady has the best ballistic in my opinion.

Nice rifle in a great caliber. How's that Nikon? I think optics are way more important than the rifle itself.
