Relocating widgeon grass and other vegetation

I have a pond that for whatever reason isn't as full of grass as some of my others. I'd like to move some grass from the full ponds to the thinner pond and see if I can get some growth. What do yall do to relocate widgeon grass? Any success? I tried moving the ponds to behind the weirs but I didn't have a big enough bucket and shovel. But seriously, any pointers?
