Default Horrible Day in Hopedale

Fritz 20 and I decided to make a trip to Hopedale today to try our hand at some trout. He nor I got the memo that the front was not all the way through the east side of the state this morning and boy did we pay for it. Got to the landing after swimming in along Hopedale Hwy. The guy at the launch laughed at us as we were the only people with a boat for the first half an hour this morning. The wind was blowing all of 30 mph when we first got on the water and the tide was ripping out. We fished every nook and cranny we could find that the water wasn't white capping. No matter how hard we tried we couldn't get a bite. We fished for almost 8 hours to no avail. This is my first but probably not my last scratch trip. Oh well, off to Point a la Hache tomorrow or maybe back to Hopedale. This just means I have waged war on the fish for tomorrow.

Yep, we thought we was the only dummies out there, then we saw W and crew
running towards the weirs, then we saw them in Hackberry, then we saw them in the
ship channel, then we saw them in Turners, then we saw them in LNG.
Then we ran into Adamsfence. He pointed us in the right direction.
That Jordan somehow has everyone's phone number who is on SaltyCajun.
And he called them all today. If he didn't call them, they called him.

I don't think you have any idea how hard that wind was blowing. Going anywhere near those rocks would be foolish at best.

It started out around 20 mph in Big Lake today.
Then laid down between 10 and 15 mph by the
end of our fishing.

Ours laid down to 15 for about 30 minutes then picked back up again. Conservatively I would say steady 20 for most of the day. I shudder to think what the gusts where, I had difficulty standing on the front deck!!!
