Default Game Day Trout

Made the trek down to Hopedale this am. Not in a big rush to get the kayak in the water as I wanted to let the armada of duck hunters get out and the HUGE crowd of regular boats that were off today.

Got on the trout early before the wind started howling and all the boats running everywhere. It was a sight catching big trout and the boats anchored up could not figure out what they were doing wrong!

Trout were caught on Marsh Works Purple Thang Thumpper with a Marsh Works jig head. Thats all they needed.

The Matthews Custom Rod I used today was great with the wind. The over 7' rod with spiraled micro guides casts a mile and so sensitive you feel every hit!

Thanks. Couple of the guys had some more but I went looking for reds and then the wind started howling. The boat traffic was insane. Sure was funny when they would see us haul in the trout and they were not catching. The 2 big ones cooked up nice tonight!
