You're gonna work on land now? I think it may have been RedDevil that had posted it up.

Have heard the Sheriffs deputys suggest having a loaded gun or two in your possession at all times.

Cuero was about the most depressing oilpatch town I've seen. Gonzalez is decent size with a couple restaurants. Floresville to the west was where I spent most of my time. Not bad with a HEB. The walmart was an oldschool one though.

The thing I remember most was they have some amazing patches of wildflowers everywhere right about now.

I stayed in George West once and, didn't have any issues. We were working in 3 Rivers, about 20 miles away. The only problem was the buzzards!

I hunt near whitsett in McMullen county. That whole part of the state has changed so much it's not recognizable from even 3 years ago! I would definitely recommend having locks on everything.

In 1999 I worked in Brownsville for a while. I've heard that it changed quite a bit down there. Only thing can go wrong is not like it and come back offshore. I just got to try to get Sammich down there with me. I need someone to do my paperwork!! Haha

Make sure they have a place for you to stay. Housing is impossible down there.

As our old coworker would say, I don't make enough money to learn that, they gotta pay me more.

Got a new trailer on location for us to live in. Company truck to run around in. We will be taking care of 3 locations spread out over 40 miles. Excited to go. I may not make this whole hitch offshore giving my notice tomorrow they may send me in. Oh well but I plan to complete this hitch not to burn any bridges.
