Nighttime driving lights
Who has some ideas? |

if you can figure out a way to mount those light bars to your boat, you'd be good to go! maybe even 2-3 of them on some kind of quick mount that would be easy to take on and off. I'd try to mount at least two

Rigid industries makes a small one that mounts on the front of your trolling motor mount.

The first thing you may want to do is see what is legal and what is not legal for nighttime navigation on the water. I'm pretty sure that "headlight" type devices mounted to a boat are not legal for nighttime navigation as it hampers your night vision along with that of other boaters that may be around you. Don't take my word for it - I checked into it once upon a time but things may have changed since. LED lightbars are popular these days but I don't believe they are intended for navigation

It's my understanding that a LED light bar can be used as long as you can still see the nav lights on the boat and you have to turn them off when you approach a on coming boat. I have one mounted to my Pro-Drive and have never had a issue with Mr. Green jeans. If you could come up with a mount that would fit into your seat pedestal that you could put in when you need it and just store it when you don't that would work out pretty good IMO.

Nighttime driving lights
I was really thinking about mounting some small led lights to the grab rail. Just didn't know if anyone has done that to their boat.
Thanks for the ideas so far. |

Lights on the hand rail will reflect off of the boat and make it difficult to see.

why not just keep it simple unless you want to look "pretty"
clamp a 1 1/2" or 2" pvc pipe (whatever it fits in) standing up on the side of your console and set the q beam handle in it, the cord will work as a brake to gently hold it in position now you can be hands free on the light to drive but easy to adjust it in a second. I think any "mounted" light lets you see very little since with a q beam you spend more time looking every where else but straight ahead. just my 2 cents |

Mount you something like this on the front it would light up plenty in front of the boat so you could see where you going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did see that one when I searched their website. That ones more reasonable. But after some searching...I think I can build my very own for about 125.00. I do like the remote control searchlights. Those are really cool. |

If I had a flat bow that would be an option, but mine comes to a point. |

To me this idea you had would work about the same as the big light bar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I thought so too, and the cool factor would be times 10!!! I'm just not sure how to test it yet. |

You can get some fairly cheap ones on Amazon that is where I got the one on my boat. You can get a flood or a spot type.

I have the Go Light stanchion mount on my duck boat... its nice. The one I have was like $350 they make a bunch of different models. It mounts on the bow so you don't get any light reflection and it has a remote.
