Default Roof replacement cost

My son is about to make his first home purchase, and it really looks like the roof shingles need replacing. Anyone know the going price per square for new roof in the Lafayette area? (not the cheaper 3 tab).
Also, this house has a circuit breaker box that has no main circuit shutoff. I personally have never heard of that. Is it advisable to replace this with a box WITH a main disconnect? This just doesn't look right to me. Any thoughts?

2 Years ago, in Moss Bluff I paid about $ 170 per square for 54 squares.

They took off the old, installed new, replaced 4 wind turbines, 45 feet of ridge vents and cleaned up.

If the box is old you can replace it w/ a breaker panel w/ a main breaker or you can get a disconnect put in between the meter and the panel.

Not sure how the markets compare, but I have 2 quotes in hand right now for new shingles in Houston area and they are both right at $200/sq
