Default FINS Windtamer

I cleaned and oiled my curado 200 E7 yesterday in preparation for the Salty Cajun Tourney on Saturday. I respooled with about half a spool of 17lb red cajun line then I blood knotted on some 30 lb FINS windtamer and filled the spool. I tied on a 1/4oz jighead and headed out to the front yard. I HAVE NEVER CASTED SO FAR IN MY LIFE! We will see how it fishes, but castability is unreal. One more note...... I have fished an improved surgeons knot all of my life, and I could not the that knot to hold with this line. It would pull through itself every time. I tried a palomar knot, and that was the ticket.

Fins is the best braid on the market!IMO. It's made in American, lays flat on spool, has great customer service, hold knots, and has true strength.

I was wondering if the spool I bought would fill the E7 all the way up. What reel are you spooling and how much FINS does it take?

just a question.... why would you spool up a whole reel with braid. kind of a waste IMO... do a half mono half braid and you can do two reels instead of just one. that braid will get old by the time you use all of it anyways.

At the end of the season, you just reverse the line on the spool.

FINS has let me down many times. I have never had so many top waters pop off and fly for miles, or so it seems. It gets real soft, and tends to break somewhere in the spool. Sometimes, I couldn't even find where it was. I disposed of it quickly.

There customer service is very good. I just can't throw it.

how does FINS compare to PowerPro. PowerPro has never given me a reason to look for anything else.

Had the same experience. Had it break on the spool 3 times in one trip. Know someone else that used it and same thing happened.

Will stick with PowerPro...

Stick with the power pro. I tried many different braids. I finally went back to Sufix performance 20lb. I've thrown Sufix for the last 3 years. It's all about preference. Stick with what works for you. The FINS wave caught me, so I had to try.

I have never used the wind tamer brand the only one I have ever used and have never had any of the above problems is the Fins Shock Absorbing braid which is said to have a little stretch.

Used all brands starting to prefer the stren sonic braid over them all.
