Default Atchafalaya River Monsters

Went check the bush lines again this morning. Not a bunch of fish, but big fish. Two nice goujons, and a couple big channel cats. Had a circle hook that got straightened out by a monster.

We bait with 4-5" bream caught by rod n reel

We could catch a lot more with cut shad but we're after the big flatheads. Our biggest is 28#s. The big one in the pic was 14#'s.

These are really the only fish I get fired up to catch. I know you guys are some trout slayers, but these are the only fish that I truly target. Even though we bushline, jugline and trotline for them it is still tough as hell to catch'em.

Thanks for the reply. The flatheads have been one of my favorite freshwater fish. My grandmother caught a 42 lb.er on rod & reel in Lake Bruin back in the 80's using live bream about the size of your hand. I've been trying to catch more of them in the basin but haven't had a lot of success.
