I like lots of light. I have a go light on the front. On each side of that I have a "frog" beam light like you mount to a hard hat. I made some neat fixtures for the lamp out of pvc fittings, and then used a magnet at the base to secure it to the deck. I like to be able to easily take them off after hunting season so they don't get in the way when fishing. I also wear one on my hat. Did I mention I like a lot of light. WE travel a lot through the woods, so I like to see everything.

How much do those lights draw on your battery? I just know with my luck I'll be dead in the water by the time I make it to the blind!

All I use is a hard hat light.
I keep 2 in the boat one has a 50 watt bulb one has a 100watt. I find that durring the winter we have lots of fog on the water and brighter lights make it harder to seen in the fog. Most mornings all I can use is the 50 watt. |

Well, the hard hat light runs off of my cranking battery. I have trolling motor batter up front, so I use that to run the other 3. I always charge up the front battery when I get back home,so Im not exactly sure how long it will run them till battery is dead. It is always plenty enough to get to the blind though. I also have a strand of 12v. rope lighting all the way around the inside of the boat. Makes it nice when your throwing out decoys. Illuminates the whole inside of the boat without blinding you.

i run the led headlight from these people... www.light-headed.net and have a regular hardhat light as a backup.
a light on your head can't be beat. he got good prices on lightbars too if you go that route. fixin to put a couple led lights on the airboat, can't decide if i want a light bar on the front or 2 in the cage. |
